Jiwon Baek is a doctoral candidate in the Education Policy and Evaluation program at Florida State University. Her research focuses on the teacher pipeline, teacher labor market, and the organizational and policy conditions that shape staffing in high-need schools. Her current work examines how preparation experiences and policy conditions shape preservice teachers’ pathways into the teaching workforce and contribute to teacher workforce stability.

She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from Ewha Womans University in Seoul, South Korea. She also holds a national teacher certification in secondary moral education in South Korea.

EPIC works with state and district partners to create a targeted research agenda to learn which reform strategies are most effective, where, when and for whom.
