Sierra Stern

Sierra Stern is a PhD student in Education Policy at the University of Pittsburgh. Her primary research interests include equity-focused organizational change across state and local levels and collaborative approaches to policy implementation and research use. At EPIC, she supports qualitative research on grow your own teacher initiatives. Sierra holds a Master’s in Teaching from the University of Washington and previously taught in an elementary and middle school. She brings practical insights from her teaching experience into her academic work and is passionate about research that supports practice.

EPIC works with state and district partners to create a targeted research agenda to learn which reform strategies are most effective, where, when and for whom.
