Michigan to administer M-STEP tests — but results may not tell full story

After a year off, state standardized tests have returned to Michigan schools. But this year, not every Michigan student will take a test. The ones who will are more likely to be white and live in affluent areas offering in-person learning options, raising questions about what this year’s test scores will show and what data is still missing.
