Competency-Based Education

EPIC’s Study of Competency-Based Education in Michigan is supported by a grant from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation jointly sought by the Education Policy Innovation Collaborative (EPIC) and Michigan Department Education (MDE) to study how districts across Michigan are implementing competency-based education (C-BE) and to provide technical assistance to MDE and local districts from the Center for Assessment.

This study will focus on helping our partners understand how schools and districts are implementing C-BE; how Michigan Department of Education can further support districts implementing C-BE; and whether and how C-BE is leading to positive intermediate- and long-term outcomes.
