Amy Cummings

Amy Cummings is an incoming Senior Analyst at Abt Global and is currently completing her Ph.D. in Education Policy at Michigan State University (MSU). Her research has focused on early literacy policies, their implementation, and their effects on children, with a commitment to ensuring equitable access to educational supports for all students. In her role at the Education Policy Innovation Collaborative (EPIC), Amy investigates the implementation and effectiveness of Michigan’s Read by Grade Three Law. Before her doctoral studies at MSU, she worked at the American Enterprise Institute and taught high school social studies. Amy holds a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Missouri and a master’s in cognitive science in education from Teachers College, Columbia University.

EPIC works with state and district partners to create a targeted research agenda to learn which reform strategies are most effective, where, when and for whom.
