Josep Maria Nadal Fernandez

Josep Nadal-Fernandez is a Senior Research Fellow for the Education Research Alliance for New Orleans and the National Center for Research on Education Access and Choice at Tulane University. He collaborates on projects evaluating the impact of market-based approaches on educational outcomes, particularly for disadvantaged students.
Previously, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at EPIC, contributing to the analysis of the Read by Grade Three Law, Michigan’s early literacy policy. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Illinois at Chicago, where his dissertation investigated the interplay between teacher labor markets and school competition.

EPIC works with state and district partners to create a targeted research agenda to learn which reform strategies are most effective, where, when and for whom.
